Types of Vaccine
A. Viral Vector-based Vaccine:
1. Covishield (Astrazeneca): 2 Doses 6-9 weeks apart
2. Sputnik V: 2 Doses 21 days apart
3. Johnson & Johnson: 1 Dose
B. Inactivated Virus:
1. Covaxin (Bharat Biotech): 2 Doses 4-6 weeks apart
2. Sinovac
3. Sinopharm
C. RNA Vaccine:
1. Pfizer
2. Moderna
D. DNA Vaccine:
1. ZyCoV-D
E. Protein-based Vaccine:
Novavax
Generally, 2-3 weeks after completion of vaccination person develops an adequate immune response.
CoViD Vaccination in India started on 16 Jan 2021
CoViD & Non-CoVid vaccine should be separated by at least 14 days
except for Tetanus as it is an emergency measure.
Phases
(Aim: Strengthen healthcare & Pandemic response system)
Phase 2: for all Indian >/= 45 yrs of age.
(Aim: Protect most vulnerable population)
Phase 3: for all Indian >/= 18 yrs of age.
(Aim: Protect entire risk population)
* Foreign nationals are also eligible for vaccination if they have received at least one dose in their own country.
* No need for CoViD test before vaccination.
* Vaccine is safe for Pregnant/Lactating/Menstruating woman, hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, Chronic Kidney Disease, Heart disease & Lipid disorder
*A person on Aspirin/ Clopidogrel (Antiplatelet agent / Anticoagulant), a dose of that day should be taken after vaccination.
*Patient on vit K antagonist should have INR <3 before vaccination.
In both above cases apply firm pressure for at least 5 min of the injection site to reduce hematoma formation at the injection site.

* If a person doesn't have valid ID proof then still he will get the vaccine with help of the District Task Force.
